Class of 2010: First Impressions

The first two days of orientation for the Class of 2010 brought something different from the usual introduction to a new school. The nearly 200 students formed small groups and were tasked with devising a business plan for an empty storefront on New Haven's Audubon Street. The students had to produce a concept that was economically viable; that had a social impact that reflected SOM's mission of educating leaders for business and society; and that reflected Yale's desire to have a positive impact on the New Haven community. (Read more about the Audubon Project.)

Over the course of this year, we will be following nearly a dozen students as they navigate their first year in the SOM MBA program. For the first installment, three students - Lisa Law, Mike Firmage, and Diana Stein - discuss their experiences in the Audubon Street Project and the entirety of orientation, including a class trip to New York to visit a number of top corporations.

Listen to Lisa, Mike, and Diana discuss the beginning of their MBA experience. (7:19)
