A group of twenty-five leaders from the public and the private sectors attended this two-week program sponsored by a major Russian oil company. The program aimed to provide these business executives and policymakers with an understanding of business as an integral part of civil society and societal development.

In cooperation with the Academy of Management, University of Groningen, Netherlands, this program was designed for senior Dutch executives to revisit the classic concept of a university as a meeting point of ideas, talents, and viewpoints and a place that creates a new synthesis from a clash of paradigms and combination of paradoxes. Faculty members from Yale SOM shared their fascinations, reflections, and doubts about a variety of topics.

Senior finance executives from Brazil attended this four-day program at Yale SOM. The program focused on international finance and issues of corporate finance.

This two-week program at Yale SOM was designed to give high-level executives of a major pharmaceutical company in China the knowledge to help them make better management decisions. The participants were exposed to innovative business concepts which helped them develop a better understanding of the changes in the global economy. In addition, the program provided the participants a strong foundation of integrated, cross-functional knowledge and skills so that they could competitively position their business into the future.

A distinguished group of Chief Information Officers and Directors of IT from some of the largest Japanese corporations attended this five-day program at Yale SOM focused on examples of both successful and failed business and organizational strategies to support innovation.

In cooperation with the World Bank Forum, Yale SOM offered a ten-day program designed to assist regional Director Training Institutes, by advancing the knowledge base and skill sets of good corporate governance. Good corporate governance includes all the measures that can be voluntarily undertaken by managers, directors, and shareholders to provide assurance to investors that they are protected, and at the same time, take cognizance of the corporation's social responsibilities.

Executive Management for Ophthalmic

This program, offered in coordination with ASCRS/ASOA (American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and American Society for Ophthalmic Administration), addressed the critical business and management needs of individuals involved in ophthalmic medical practices and associated businesses.

This program was designed to help senior managers increase their leadership potential. The program featured active participation and feedback in small group exercises and a computer analysis of each participant's leadership style. Professor Victor H. Vroom developed individual leadership profiles comparing participants to more than 150,000 senior managers based on a pre-workshop analysis of 30 real-life situations.

This program aimed to transform the way its participants think, lead, manage and solve problems, to transform from corporate leaders to business statesmen. Business statesmen not only adapt to global and technological changes to ensure the survival and growth of their organizations, but also assume broader societal responsibilities for ensuring the prosperity of their organizations and the global economy.
